NRL Semis Souths v Easts Dogs v Penrith
How do you see these match ups? I want to see South Sydney (Come on you Bunnies) get through and I think they will. I've got a feeling the Dirty Doggies will beat Penrith. However what Soward and co have done this season has been incredible but I also think a Dogs Souths final would have a better atmosphere and the forward confrontation would be immense, too

I’m going to the game tonight, South’s V Roosters, should be a good game.

Don’t really follow League that much but will be supporting South’s tonight. Did find it amusing when I first came to Sydney that a team had a Rabbit as its mascot so on that count alone I felt they were worth supporting, mind you there playing a team with a Chicken as its mascot……………………..

Yes, The Rabbit isn't exactly a symbol of hard fought aggression and confrontation. I suppose they'll have to fuck them to death.
I'd love to go but i'm not in the country but I've been following the thing all season on the box. I'm more interested in who wins the NRL than the bloody Premier League, to be honest. Let us know how it went.

Proper old working class club

wiki
The most famous story of how the club got the "Rabbitohs" nickname comes from their rugby union days at the turn of the 20th century. During that period, players wearing their cardinal red and myrtle green football jumpers, earned some extra money on Saturday mornings by hawking rabbits around the district with the traditional cry of "Rabbitoh!" echoing through the narrow streets. As they made a sale, they would sling the bunny from their shoulder and skin it on the spot, inevitably accumulating some of the fur and blood on their jerseys as they did so. When they played in those blood stained jumpers that afternoon, opponents from wealthier rugby clubs did not always appreciate the aroma and would mockingly repeat the "Rabbitoh!" cry

The AFL Grand Final tomorrow is Hawthorn v Sydney ... The Hawks vs The Swans
Of course Sydney are really the transplanted South Melbourne club ... The Bloods.
For some reason the Sydney Poofs didn't want to take the nickname with them

Re: NRL Semis Souths v Easts Dogs v Penrith
Trouble is the Dirty Doggies seem to have a bit of momentum, if they can beat Melbourne and Manly then Penrith should be an easier thing but the team spirit of the Panthers has been very good, considering their injuries.. It always makes me laugh watching the captain Michael Ennis Play for the dogs, the gamesmanship and constant complaining to the referees. Also glad James 'Run again son' Graham is doing well over there.but the club itself comes across as the most Non-Anglo of the sides there; Strange to see a few Hijab wearing Dogs in the crowd.

I think we'll beat the Roosters tonight, and the Bulldogs will tip out the Panthers tomorrow night.

I'd even possibly take losing next week if it meant we knocked Easts out tonight....they're fuckwits.

I can't make a case for Penrith winning it, they're just punching so far above their weight I reckon.

" the dogs have spurs written all over 'em"

Hmmm, not exactly.
The Canterbury Bulldogs have a significant Muslim following. I don't think that's the first thing one thinks of when Spurs comes to mind.

I used to have a strong dislike of Canterbury, but don't mind them so much now.

Don't much care for Manly though.

Would love a Rabbitohs-Penrith final with the Rabbitohs to win, but I have a horrible feeling it will be the other two. I want to see Michael Ennis smashed either in the semi or the final.

I see Manly as being like Spurs..
Canterbury have all kinds of shit following them these days. They are more like Millwall.

Of the teams left in it, I quite like Penrith as a club and don't like the other 3, so hopefully the Panthers win it.

You can get fucked too.

Re: NRL Semis Souths v Easts Dogs v Penrith
If you go to a Bulldogs game, there always seems to be little gangs moving through the crowd looking for a fight, including with their own people. I remember one young guy with his arm in a sling and a frame of metal pins holding his hand together looking for trouble. I was going to whack his hand with my bottle of coke if he tried it on me.

Manly supporters are the ones with the banners that say 'No-one Likes us, we don't care'

I'm struggling to think of Rugby League teams with similarities to Football teams. There isn't a 'Top 6' where the same clubs dominate year after year. Imagine a side like St George Illawarra having an outstanding group of youngsters, similar to Southampton last season..and letting the majority of them go??
I don't understand that...Don't Southampton want to try and win the thing one year??

If football had a salary cap, things would be more even. Instead we have the FFP sham.
